Who this is for: certified divers who want to put some some speed in their dives

Schedule & Format

  • eLearning Online (Added fee $157): (self-paced) to build your knowledge
  • Classroom Session: for review of eLearning studies and preparation to dive with DPV
  • Open Water Dives: practice DPV maneuvers and tandem riding, motor entanglements, buddy tracking

Gear Included vs. Personal Gear

  • Provided for Use: DPVs
  • Student's Personal Gear (Required): full set of dive gear, tanks and weights

Prerequisites & Referral Students

  • Prerequisites: Open Water Diver certification required
  • Ages: 12+
  • Haven't trained with us before? No worries, as long as you have credentials verifying your Open Water Diver certification, you're set to enroll

Attendance

  • To successfully complete this course, students must attend all scheduled classroom and dives
  • Additional classroom and pool sessions may be scheduled for students, by student request, or by instructor recommendation, at no additional charge to the student

Registration Deadline

  • Register at least one week before your desired class start date to allow for time for completion of eLearning prior to your classroom session

Enrollment

  • Ages 12+
  • Registration, medical form, and waiver required
  • If registering online, forms and eLearning access will be emailed
  • Physician approval may be required based on medical questionnaire

Meet Your Instructors

This course is taught by instructor Marc Ellis or Jacob Nelson.

Marc has been an instructor since 1994 and has been teaching at Dive & Glide Scuba since 2022.  In addition to training divers, he also heads up the organization of our dive club (Mid-Michigan Dive Adventures) meetings and events.  Marc is bilingual (he speaks Spanish) and holds multiple diving instructor certifications as a PADI®, SSI®, and SDI/TDI® instructor

Jacob is an instructor, sales associate, and service technician at Dive & Glide Scuba.  His dive training progressed quickly after he earned his first diving certification.  He earned his PADI® Open Water Instructor and EFR Instructor certifications in 2020.
