Open Water Diver Course for Kids
Kids can start their Open Water Diver journey with us! They will learn the skills needed to dive safely and confidently — in a course specifically designed for kids aged 10-15. Once training is complete, they will be ready to register for their Junior Open Water Diver Certification by completing their open water checkout dives. (Additional fees apply.)

Schedule & Format
- eLearning Online (included): (self-paced) to build your knowledge
- Classroom Session: for review of eLearning studies and preparation to attend pool skills sessions
- Pool Sessions: to learn basic diving skills to safely dive to a depth of 40-60 feet (dependent on age)
Gear Included vs. Personal Gear
- Provided for Use: regulators, gauges and/or dive computer, buoyancy compensator, tanks, weights
- Student's Personal Gear (Required): mask, snorkel, boots, fins
- Recommended Gear: 1.5mm or 3mm wetsuit for pool sessions
Referral Students Welcome
- Started elsewhere? We accept Universal Referral students with proper paperwork
Attendance
- To successfully complete this course, students must attend all scheduled classroom and pool sessions
- Additional classroom and pool sessions may be scheduled for students, by student request, or by instructor recommendation, at no additional charge to the student
Registration Deadline
- Register at least one week before your desired class start date to allow for time for completion of eLearning prior to your classroom session

- Ages 10-15
- Registration, medical form, and waiver required
- If registering online, forms and eLearning access will be emailed
- Physician approval may be required based on medical questionnaire

Meet Your Instructors
Keith, co-owner of Dive & Glide Scuba. Keith has been teaching scuba courses since 1989 and is dedicated to creating safe, confident, and capable divers and snorkelers. In addition to being a NAUI® Instructor, Keith is also a SSI® Instructor.
Marc has been an instructor since 1994 and has taught at Dive & Glide Scuba since 2022. He also leads our dive club (Mid-Michigan Dive Adventures) and is bilingual (Spanish). Marc is certified as a PADI®, SSI®, and SDI/TDI® Instructor.
Jacob is an instructor, sales associate, and service technician at Dive & Glide Scuba. His training progressed rapidly after his first certification, and he earned his PADI® Open Water Instructor and EFR Instructor credentials in 2020.
