Enroll in-person anytime at Dive & Glide Scuba, or online 60+ days before the course start date, and your cost is $999. (eLearning not included; added fees apply.)

Schedule & Format
- eLearning Online & PADI® Crew-Pak (Add $543): to begin building your knowledge with online studies (accompany training materials also included, i.e. slate, pro bag)
- Classroom Sessions: review of eLearning studies, dive planning; course completion following and testing
- Pool Sessions: 3 session dates are published; remaining dates are scheduled with instructor
- Open Water Dives: first open water dives are published; remaining dates are scheduled with instructor though 10/31/26
- Your first 3 course sessions are defined in our online schedule; the remaining required sessions are scheduled by you, with your instructor
Diving Gear
- Student's Personal Gear (Required): a full set of dive gear, owned by student, is mandatory for this course
Prerequisites
- Rescue Diver certification
- Completion of PADI Emergency First Response®Primary and Secondary Care training (or equivalent) within past 24 months.
- Minimum 40 logged dives
- 18+ years of age (or 15 for Junior Divemaster)
Attendance
- To successfully complete this course, students must attend all scheduled classroom, pool sessions, open water dives
Registration Deadline
- Register at least two weeks before your desired class start date to allow for completing a portion of the eLearning prior to your classroom session
Enrollment
- Ages 18+
- Registration, medical form, and waiver required
- If registering online, forms and eLearning access will be emailed
- Medical evaluation; cleared by a physician within the past 12 months

Meet Your Instructors
This course is taught by instructor Marc Ellis or Jacob Nelson.
Marc has been an instructor since 1994 and has been teaching at Dive & Glide Scuba since 2022. In addition to training divers, he also heads up the organization of our dive club (Mid-Michigan Dive Adventures) meetings and events. Marc is bilingual (he speaks Spanish) and holds multiple diving instructor certifications as a PADI®, SSI®, and SDI/TDI® instructor.
Jacob is an instructor, sales associate, and service technician at Dive & Glide Scuba. His dive training progressed quickly after he earned his first diving certification. He earned his PADI® Open Water Instructor and EFR Instructor certifications in 2020.
