Schedule & Format
- THIS IS NOT A CERTIFICATION COURSE; it is strictly an information and skill development course
- This course may be credited as one (1) dive toward the completion of the SDI Advanced Adventurer Course
- Classroom Session: to learn how to use dive computers and compare various models and their functions
- Pool Sessions: one (1) pool session to test and use dive computers underwater
- Open Water Checkout Dives: one (1) open water checkout dive
Gear Included vs. Personal Gear
- Provided for Use: dive computers, tanks, and weights
- Student's Gear: full set of gear is required, or students may rent gear at 50% off regular rates
Referral Students Welcome
- Started elsewhere? We accept students with proper paperwork as required by SDI® to continue their education
Attendance
- To successfully complete this course, students must attend all scheduled classroom and pool sessions, and the open water dive

Meet Your Instructors
This course is taught by instructor Marc Ellis or Timothy Burch.
Marc has been an instructor since 1994 and has been teaching at Dive & Glide Scuba since 2022. In addition to training divers, he also heads up the organization of our dive club (Mid-Michigan Dive Adventures) meetings and events. Marc is bilingual (he speaks Spanish) and holds multiple diving instructor certifications as a PADI®, SSI®, and SDI/TDI® instructor.
Tim is an instructor and sales associate at Dive & Glide Scuba. Before his tenure here, he was teaching in the Mid-Michigan area for many years under his own company name, Maximum Bottom Time. Tim's passion is advanced and technical diving, and he enjoys teaching new students. He is an SDI/TDI® and SSI® Instructor.
