Trip Recap

Bonaire 2026

On April 25, 2026, our Dive & Glide Scuba group kicked off an unforgettable Bonaire adventure at Divi Flamingo Beach Resort.

Our guests enjoyed six days of boat diving and shore diving, and Bonaire did not disappoint. At almost every dive site, the divemaster would say, “If we’re lucky, we’ll see…” and somehow, again and again, we did see the elusive creature we were seeking. The perfect finale came on our last dive of the week, when a huge loggerhead turtle appeared as if it had come to wish us farewell. What a rush!

Several divers in the group were also able to complete new certifications, including Advanced Diver and Rescue Diver, thanks to the added opportunity for shore diving throughout the week. And speaking of shore diving, one of our bonus surprises came when a fast-moving ball of fish suddenly rushed past us and completely surrounded us. Were they running from something? Were they just heading home? We still don’t know — but it was amazing!

As an added treat, we happened to be on the island during several holiday celebrations, so our group also got to enjoy Bonairean festivities above the water. Beautiful diving, great people, island celebrations, and memories we’ll be talking about for a long time — this trip was definitely one for the books.

We Did What?! What a Fun-Filled Week!

We went diving, we kayaked, we toured the island, we swam, we explored downtown, we sailed, we shopped, we enjoyed a parade, we devoured wonderful food and drinks, and yes — we missed you!

Bonaire gave us the kind of week that makes you understand why divers keep going back. Of course, the diving was the main event, but our surface intervals were packed with just as many memories. We watched the windsurfers at Jibe City fly across the water, kayaked through the mangroves, visited the flamingo sanctuary, and took in the wide-open views of the Bonaire salt flats.

We also had time to explore downtown, browse the shops, enjoy the pools, relax at the restaurants and bars, and soak up the easy island pace between dives. The timing of our trip made it even more special because we were there during holiday celebrations, including the festivities in Rincon. The music, parade, food, and local energy gave us a wonderful taste of Bonairean culture above the water, too.

Between boat dives, shore dives, island exploring, sailing, swimming, good meals, great drinks, and plenty of laughter, this trip turned into one of those adventures that feels hard to fully explain unless you were there.

We wish you had been there — and we really mean it!
