What first got you interested in scuba diving, and how often do you go diving?

I obtained my Open Water Certification through an opportunity offered by the Patriots for Disabled Divers (PFDD) nonprofit organization. Becoming an instructor was primarily to share the therapeutic experience SCUBA diving offers with other Disabled Veterans, but I love sharing my knowledge with anyone who wants to learn. I got tired of the bureaucracy of corporate America draining my soul, so I decided to take a sabbatical from my Information Technology career for the entirety of 2026. I'm available to dive almost anytime!

Most of my diving adventures have been Michigan shipwrecks and professional courses at Rainbow Reef Dive Center, Key Largo, Florida.

What do you enjoy most about helping divers?

Scuba diving offers incredible adventures, unforgettable sights, and a unique connection with the aquatic world. I am excited to share my passion for the underwater world with those ready to explore an environment that few people ever truly experience.

What is one piece of advice you give new divers?

Diving can feel intimidating if you're not properly trained or prepared. So safety is always my highest priority. Through proper instruction, practice, and guidance, you can build the confidence and skills needed to enjoy diving safely and comfortably.

Favorite underwater moment?

It's always a good day when I get to hang out with sharks and turtles.

What might customers not know about you?

I love hockey as much as I love scuba diving. I'm trying to find the best way to get a "frozen pond" as close to a "thawed one" as possible, so on any given day, I can dive and skate.
