Apeks XL4, XL4+ & Ocea Recall Information

HEAD Watersports has announced a voluntary safety recall for select Apeks regulator second stages. Dive & Glide Scuba is not currently an Apeks dealer, but we are happy to help local divers understand the notice and get connected with the right recall support.

What divers need to know

The recall applies to certain Apeks XL4, XL4+ and Ocea regulator second stages manufactured between April 2025 and April 2026.

The affected serial number range is 250402212 through 260402893, inclusive.

If your regulator may be affected, stop using it until it has been checked.

Why this matters

According to the recall notice, a manufacturing issue may allow part of the second stage assembly to be installed incorrectly. Under demanding diving conditions, especially deeper dives, this could restrict breathing gas flow.

Out of caution, affected regulators need to be inspected and, if necessary, corrected before they are used again.

What should you do?

Step 1 Check your Apeks second stage model and serial number.
Step 2 If it falls in the affected range, do not dive it until it is inspected.
Step 3 Contact the original place of purchase, an authorized Apeks dealer, or contact Dive & Glide Scuba for assistance.

Need help figuring out where to start?

We know recall notices can be confusing. Even though Apeks is not a brand we sell, Dive & Glide Scuba is here as a one-stop resource for our local diving community. If you are unsure whether your regulator is affected, contact us and we will help you review the notice, look at your next steps, and connect you with the appropriate Apeks recall support.

This notice is shared as a customer service update for divers who may own affected Apeks equipment. For final recall instructions, inspection, repair eligibility, and official requirements, please refer to HEAD Watersports, Apeks, or an authorized Apeks dealer/service center.
